Well blow me and sting in the tail??..Well blow me and sting in the tail??..This post and story was told to me by a ?friend of a friend? which I?ve tried to recall and record as best I can.The key character is Phil and the story is told from his perspective. Phil was a salesman working for a company who exhibited their products at small exhibitions all over the UK working with other salesmen plus a few in-house logistics guys. The story centres around one of the logistics men Eddie. Phil and Eddie often worked together and built up a good working relationship having long days traveling, exhibiting during the day and nights drinking during each event. Eddie was basically a driver who helped set-up the stand (booth) with ambitions of getting into sales. Phil, was relatively successful and earned a good income from his endeavours, so looked after Eddie ensuring he received bonuses and paid for the majority of drinks on their nights out. Outside of work they did not know each other that well, until they changed their working patterns.The new routine meant Eddie took the lorry home loaded with equipment and exhibition stand so Phil could drive over and leave his car at Eddie?s house. This meant Phil got to see Eddie home and observed that Eddie?s house was well appointed and quite modest, but had a very large and amazing garden. At this stage, being early morning, Phil had not met Eddie?s wife yet.One day as they drove to their destination Phil enquired how Eddie had the time to do so much in the garden, given he worked away so much. It became apparent that Eddie?s wife Donna did all the gardening, planting vegetables and growing plants from seeds. Eddie said ?there is a story behind how things? ?get done? ?which I?ll tell you about one day? which intrigued Phil no end.After another successful show on the last night of this event Eddie had a few too many beers so Phil took advantage. He asked Eddide what he meant about the garden and ?things getting done?? Eddie having had two many beers began to tell him about this wife. Donna was 4 years older than Eddie at 35 and he met her on a stag night. She was a barmaid in one of the pubs they got talking and Eddie went back to see her on another night. She was divorced from a hot headed guy who was then and is now a loser, and whom she never saw anymore. The life Donna had led with this guy since her teens was not abusive, but very sexually driven. They?d had threesomes, visited swingers clubs and parties, a relationship fueled with alcohol, recreational d**gs and lots of sex. Donna wanted a more reliable and stable relationship which Eddie provided, so things moved quickly. They agreed neither one of them wanted k**s, now or in the future and married. So what about the garden and getting things done Phil questioned again? It turned out that Donna needed advice and help when planning the garden and paid for a local guy to offer advice and support.
